Our Mission

The Campaign for a Working Connecticut wants to keep our state working by ensuring that Connecticut’s workforce can meet the demands of our dynamic economy.

CWCT strives to increase worker’s skills and options, allowing them to advance their families to self-sufficiency. The barriers to employment and advancement are substantial for those with limited proficiency. Providing these individuals with access to education and job training is the way to ensure both their own futures and that of Connecticut; simply, we must be able to fill the jobs that are so essential to the growth of businesses in our state.

The Campaign seeks resources to:

  • expand training and education services
  • address local needs for workforce development
  • add flexibility to our current programs and funding sources
  • target demographic gaps in current services
  • promote coordination and collaboration between students, businesses and the State
  • improve accountability in fund usage and program outputs

Since 2006, the Campaign for a Working Connecticut has been bridging traditional divides between agencies and funding streams to unite a wide range of participants and viewpoints.
